Cranberry juice has long since been a staple in the fight against urinary tract infections. The Proanthocyanidins found in cranberries, also referred to as OPCs (oligomeric procyanidins), is a class of flavonoid nutrients which have antioxidant activities. It helps support the necessary proteins for organs, joints, blood vessels and muscles. However, cranberry juice is full of simple sugars that may promote bad colon health and will not protect against a urinary tract infection.
